Why this side of Indore
AB Road (NH-52) is the highway that carries trade and traffic through Indore, and the Bypass Road takes through-traffic around the city. Where the two meet is where Indore’s newer residential development has concentrated, because it gives you highway access without putting the highway at your gate.
The city’s planned infrastructure reinforces it. Ahilya Path is a 15 km, 75-metre-wide corridor intended to decongest major roads. The Super Corridor is a 12 km, 250-foot-wide stretch linking MR-10 and Airport Road. A new terminal at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport is planned to take annual capacity to 5.5 million passengers, and an Indore–Ujjain metro has been proposed.
